What is a Christian Mommy Blogger?

Well that is a simple question to answer. She is a Christian first, a Mommy second and a Blogger third! Ok, she is a lot of other things in between as well – but you get the idea, right? Ok, now onto the nitty gritty of me…

Christian: I have been saved by grace. I am a sinner and I continue to sin every day. I am not perfect. I NEED Jesus every single day of my life. He is my Guide, my Rock and my Fortress. I rely on Him to help me be the best Christian, Mommy, and Blogger I can be.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God…” Ephesians 2:8, NKJV

Mommy: I have been called to teach my children. To raise them in the way they should go. I (try my best to) show them grace and my Father shows me grace. I pray for them DAILY (plus more in between) that they may grow to know and love the Lord. That they would have a heart for their Savior. That they would see how my husband (Anthony) and I live and want to be more like us – knowing that we are a fleshly example of the love, direction, and leadership that they need (and get) from their Father in Heaven. Being an example and teaching my children is a commandment that I can not argue with. It is to be practiced first and foremost every day.

“You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:1, NKJV

Blogger: Defined (by me) as:

One who has a desire to educate, minister, teach, share, fellowship, love, develop new friendships, explore, and learn…hmmm I am sure I am missing something here. Oh, one who desires to design new things, explore the internet, get lost in confusing html/css code. One who takes a ton of pictures and has a hard time knowing what they all are.  Who writes and shares and hopes that SOMEONE out there is listening or perhaps even looking forward to your next post.

Yes, a blogger can not be too sensitive. Some people LOVE what you post. Some people totally disagree with what you post, and other people may not care at all that you are even in the blogosphere. But hey, you want to share and at least your blog is listening! I became a blogger because I wanted to share about my calling as a Christian, and as a Mommy. So, Christian + Mommy = Blogger in this equation!

As John MacArther states in response to Titus 2:5, “Keeping a godly home with excellence for one’s husband and children is the Christian woman’s non-negotiable responsibility.” So there you have it…and I am going to share each step of that responsibility with anyone who would like to hear.

  1. Welcome to your new site! Very exciting to have your own URL. It is like having your very own little planet. I came over from GNOWFGLINS the other day and from Monday Mania today, just so you know where your traffic comes from. Congratulations!

    • Thank you! I had gotten very used to my old platform and didn’t realize how much work this really was. I am sooo not a techy! Ha ha. Thank you for visiting!

  2. I have an allegory I wrote recently about being a Christian mommy blogger. I’d love to pass it along if it would be of interest to you.

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. Sure! Please email me: nikki (at) christianmommyblogger (dot) com and we can talk about it there. Thanks Kim

  4. Looks like you and I have a lot in common. Nice to ‘meet’ you. It is so great to see other moms out there sharing and pouring into the kingdom of God. Awesome job.

  5. HMMM, I am still working on getting that thick skin. I have no problem with people who disagree, but rudeness is difficult. Especially when a post is non-controversial and just a reflection of who you are. :( Had that happen this week.

  6. Hey Nikki – I love what I have read so far. So much of the things you said about yourself sounds like me – with the exception I’m probably old enough to be your mother. My children are grown and I’m home after working for 30 years. Actually my husband and I are both retired and things are not exactally like I would like it around the house. That’s all about me for now – just wanted to say I’m so happy to see a Christian lady not only serving her God but helping others at the same time. Bless you!
