This post is part of our series, 31 Days to a More Reader Friendly Blog. Don’t fret, there will be TONS of tech tips and helpful tricks for your blog. But for now, we have GOT to start out with THE most important element of blogging….
Passion and purpose? What on Earth…
If you have been a reader of CMB for any length of time (or if you have read Intentional Blogger), you have heard us preach it…mission statement, purpose, priorities. We can’t get enough of it. You know why? Without it, you shouldn’t be here. You should be praying. You should be seeking God’s will. Why? Because without His direction, you will be wandering, and wandering (remember the Desert?).
I hate to sound harsh, but it’s true. We have had so many women tell us they started out strong and then burned out. They were inspired and then fell flat. They were excited and then they just felt burdened.
Why? Because they weren’t sure IF they should be blogging. They weren’t sure WHAT they should be blogging about. They weren’t sure WHY they were blogging.
Seek it out sister. Find your purpose and there lies your passion for blogging. Find passion in your purpose and you will not only survive, you will thrive!
This doesn’t mean it will always be candy canes and shopping sprees. No, there will be hard times. It will get tiring and the enemy will make you think you should quit your eMinistry. Should you? Only the Lord knows. So ask Him!
So go on girl. Find passion in your purpose!
1. Pray for your purpose.
2. Create a mission statement.
3. Stick to your mission statement. I mean it. With everything. Make sure “this” or “that” furthers your mission. No? Drop it. Like a slippery jar of milk. –>> Tweet That!
4. Keep praying. You’ll stray. Only Sweet Jesus can bring you back to your mission. So just keep praying.
Find passion in your purpose for a more reader friendly blog
What on earth does purpose have to do with making your blog a more reader friendly blog? Simple. If you don’t have passion for your writing, if passion isn’t in your writing, if it isn’t pouring out of your writing, your readers will know. And guess what – they won’t stay your readers. You will appeal to, find, and connect with readers who NEED to learn from your mission. And by doing so (appealing to readers who NEED your mission), you are fulfilling your mission.
Isn’t that the whole point?
So Sister, do you find passion in your purpose?
