We are continuing our 31 Days to a More Reader Friendly Blog series. Today we’re going to talk about your popular posts!
We want you to show off your popular posts. Similar to the idea of your sneeze pages, you might have popular posts in your archives. Let your readers know about them!
3 Ways to Show Off Your Popular Posts
Highlight popular posts in your side bar.
Use your side bar space to highlight popular posts from your archives. You should be sure to use a compelling graphic to entice readers to click through.
Write a popular posts blog post.
There are several ways you can highlight popular posts via blog posts.
- Monthly round up – At the end of each month, write a round up of popular posts.
- Yearly round up – At the end of each year, highlight the most popular posts from the year.
- Compel readers to subscribe – Once I titled a posts, “Why You Should Have Subscribed to Intentional By Grace A Long Time Ago.” In the post I highlighted the most popular posts from my site. It was a fun way to encourage my readers to subscribe!
Use your creativity and think outside the box!
Create a sneeze page of popular posts.
You could combine our sneeze page idea with showing off your popular posts by … well, creating a sneeze page of most popular posts on your blog. Then create an image for your side bar to tell your readers about it, and feel free to write up a quick post telling your readers you created a popular posts page! They might have missed a post, so this is a great opportunity to send your readers into your archives.
