Do you have a routine or a go- to thing for getting ready? For example, I have a friend who feels like she is not “dressed” if she isn’t wearing her make-up.
Or it could be about having that perfect accessory like the pearl bracelet in the picture. (Isn’t it cute, by the way!? I got it here.) When I wear this bracelet, I feel just a little more put together, a little more polished….
I guess it isn’t really just about getting ready for the day or for an event – its about feeling ready.
What makes you feel ready to face your day, your week, your to-do list? And what makes you ready in your spirit?
As much as a great bracelet, well-applied make up or any other external thing can help us feel a little bit more ready, what really makes us ready is preparation.
What do I mean by preparation? Well, I do mean being organized, and intentionally getting good at what you’re responsible for. But more importantly, I mean preparing your spirit by feeding your faith.
Every day just as we groom ourselves externally and feed ourselves with the food of this world, we also need to get ready by eating the spiritual food given to us by our Father in Heaven.
“I will feed them in a good pasture, and their grazing ground will be on the mountain heights of Israel There they will lie down on good grazing ground and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.” Ezekiel 34:14
“I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” John 6:51
