Holiday blogging can be so much fun! This is step 4 of our 5 Steps to Get Your Blog Ready for the Holidays series. If you want to catch up:
Holiday blogging can really be a lot of fun. It’s even more fun when you connect with other bloggers. If you’re in a mastermind group, talk to one another about collaborating for some fun holiday blogging.
4 Ideas to Connect with Other Bloggers
1. Develop a joint series. One of the first collaborative series I did took place during the Christmas season. I joined Mindy from Creating Naturally and Erin from The Humbled Homemaker for a ‘Tis the Season series. I confess, I flaked and didn’t finish (I only managed 3 of the 4 weeks), but it was so fun to work together with those girls.
2. Create a free gift for your readers. Do you want to give your readers a free gift? What about collaborating with other bloggers to put together a free eBook for your readers. Nikki and I both joined others from our mastermind group a couple of years ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long) to create, Healthy Holidays: Slightly Indulgent Sweet Treats. We each committed to 2-3 recipes, which meant when we were done, we could offer 20 healthy treats to our readers for free!
3. Promote a cause. Is there something you’re passionate about during the holidays like Operation Christmas Child? Now is a great time to connect with other bloggers to help get a message out during the holidays!
4. Organize a giveaway. We joined with other bloggers in the Spring of last year for a Spring Blessing Blow Out Cash Giveaway. Each blogger pitched in a set amount ($5-10, I can’t remember exactly how much). When pooled together, we had a nice chunk of money we could giveaway to one of our readers. There are lots of ideas for giveaways during the holiday season.
Connecting with other bloggers is always a good idea. I think it’s easy to think of one another as competition. But as Christian bloggers, we have a message to share no matter our niche – the message of Jesus Christ. We each have an eMinistry.
With very few exceptions, success has more to do with the people you surround yourself with than the skills and gifts you have individually. The results of a cohesive group of people with a similar vision using their varied gifts are so much more powerful than the work of an individual seeking credit and fame. We can glorify God more together than we can separately. ~page 86, Intentional Blogger: A Guide to Growing Your Blogging Ministry
And we can spread His message further together than we ever can by ourselves. So think about how you can connect with other bloggers this holiday season because working together brings glory to God!
