Today’s featured post comes from community member, Shawna, who blogs over at “Kids in the Word”. She linked up her post, “Lenten Disciplines” to Fellowship Friday 58 last week.
Her words really resonated with me as she describes her faith journey through the lens of evaluating her Lenten observances over her lifetime.
She provided an explanation of Lent and gave us the benefit of gaining wisdom just by looking over her shoulder. And with it we grow right along with her and her children.
And it leaves those of us who have grand plans for what we’re giving up for Lent a tough question to ponder: What are we giving up that truly is not a sacrifice?
And here’s another question for all of us – whether your tradition involves observing Lent or not:
What SHOULD you give up – not just because Easter is coming – but because it is in the way of you spending time with God?
Let me know if her post encouraged you the way it did me.
